Pando is beginning the process of envisioning our program as a laboratory school; a space where not only children come to learn, but where teachers and parents can deepen their understanding of early childhood education.
Monthly Gatherings
Once a month, Pando hosts a gathering for adults seeking to discuss matters relevant to young children, their education, and their care. Over the course of our 1.5 hours together, participants will be able to quickly tour the school, network with other participants, and discuss a topic of mutual interest over a wholesome meal.
Example discussion topics include:
- Introducing young children to sewing
- Facilitating play with violent themes
- Supporting nureodiversity
- Exploring children’s relationship to food
- Teacher, parent, and caregiver burn out
The aim of our time together is to identify important questions, tease them apart, and land at even better questions, while cultivating an ability to listen and express ourselves thoughtfully.
Children and childhood are important to everyone, therefore, these events are open to everyone. The content of our discussions is likely to be most relevant to parents, educators, and policy makers, but a diversity of perspectives is always welcome and encouraged. If your attendance is contingent upon securing child care, please contact us. Though we are not able to consistently provide child care for all gatherings, we never want lack of child care to limit participation.
